What Customers Say About Love Scenes:

Thank you. This is better than what I expected, and I rec'd it very quickly. I am enjoying it a lot.

"Peel Me a Grape" is, as always, irresistable. If you love beautifully polished standards, mid 20th century style, you'll love this cd.

Diana's own work on piano enhances "How Deep Is The Ocean (How High Is The Sky)," too. The music fits in just right with Diana's vocals and "They Can't Take That Away From Me" is a big highlight of this CD. People who like classic pop vocals with creative, jazzy twists will also want this in their CD collections. Diana Krall's CD entitled Love Scenes gives us a beautiful collection of passionate ballads delivered with style, class and sophistication. I highly recommend this album. "I Don't Know Enough About You" is probably my favorite track on this album; although "They Can't Take That Away From Me" is also full of elegance and charm.

The album starts very strong with Diana Krall performing a wonderful ballad, "All Or Nothing At All." "All Or Nothing At All" features Diana singing this very professionally and her ability to change tempos and keys impresses me quite a bit. The CD ends strong, too, with Diana Krall performing "Garden In The Rain." "Garden In The Rain" is quite tender and it boasts a type of smooth jazz flavor that works very well for this ballad.Diana Krall's Love Scenes CD is an absolute "must-have" for her fans; and it also makes a great starter CD for people just discovering the talents of this outstanding chanteuse. Diana sings this like the songbird she's always been and that's grand. Diana's rendition is not the most melodic when you first hear it; but it grew on me every time I heard it and "All Or Nothing At All" makes a really fine number to begin the album. Diana's rendition would make Irving Berlin quite proud indeed."My Love Is" has a strong jazzy type of arrangement; I love that creative use of percussion.

Diana simply never sounded better; and when people tell you that bassist Christian McBride and guitarist Russell Malone make the music sublime they're certainly telling the truth. "I Don't Stand A Ghost Of A Chance With You" again showcases Diana's talent--and that bass playing by Christian McBride enhances this tune even more."You're Getting To Be A Habit With Me" is a classic tune that sounds fresh and relentlessly upbeat when Diana tackles it successfully; and I really like "How Deep Is The Ocean (How High Is The Sky)." "How Deep Is The Ocean (How High Is The Sky)" has Diana playing a bit with the tempo and keys to make this a most memorable number. "I Don't Know Enough About You" has a jazzy arrangement but the music still lets Diana stay squarely in the spotlight--awesome. The quality of the sound is excellent and the artwork is well done. Listen also for the classic song entitled "Peel Me A Grape;" "Peel Me A Grape" has been sung by many chanteuses but Diana's version stands out because of her very fine interpretation of this tune.

Although she doesn't have the embellishment of a full orchestra in this recording, she does justice to every song she artfully interprets with the backing of two of the most trusted names in jazz instrumentations whose chops are always flawless and spectacular - guitarist Russell Malone and bassist Christian McBride. She brought millions of dollars to her record label, so the company could invest in other jazz artists. "These songs are indeed about romance. I think that these songs represent the strength of love, including the love of family and friends. Diana has filled a bit of that void. Her follow-up CD, The Look of Love, recorded in 2001 is also my top favorite and sold 3.5 million copies. Both albums also received Grammy nominations.

"All the greats have passed. With my heartfelt recommendation.

Over the years, I've had the great pleasure of listening to some of the loveliest music courtesy of Diana Krall, who instantly became one of my favorite jazz artists after listening to one of her most remarkable and well-produced CDs, When I Look in Your Eyes, the only Diana Krall CD that won the Grammy awards for the "Best Jazz Vocal Performance" in 1999, and was nominated for "Album of the Year." On the cover story of More Magazine, November 2007 issue written by Susan McClelland, she indicated that it was the "first time that a jazz singer has received such a nod since Ella Fitzgerald, 25 years earlier." It's a fact, When I Look in Your Eyes is truly the crème de la crème from all of her albums, and that nomination proved it. This CD is a winner and a keeper.

But to me there is a broader and more personal attachment to each of the songs than the standard definition of romantic love might imply. Whether she's singing my all-time favorite gems "They Can't Take That Away From Me," "You're Getting To Be A Habit With Me" and "How Deep Is The Ocean" or the less popular ones such as "I Miss You So," "Gentle Rain" and "My Love Is," she exudes confidence and lends elegance and sweet sophistication to each rendition to attain the album's theme of a warm musical romance.

This is one of Diana's legacies." ~ Bill King, Publisher - Jazz Report Magazine ~ But rather than describing my own thoughts about each song, it is my hope that all of you who listen to the music and read the lyrics will discover and imagine your own personal "love scenes" among the mountains, oceans, rain and gardens of these songs." ~ Diana Krall ~With this charmingly romantic CD "Love Scenes," Diana Krall once again has proven that she's got what it takes to be a modern-day jazz diva.

This album, "Love Scenes," recorded in 1997 comes close to the aforementioned CDs in terms of beauty and appeal to the listeners.

Except."peel me a grape" This is one of my "desert island CD's". Need I say more.
